Extensions attach a synthetic lash to each of your own, using an adhesive that flexes with the natural lash rather than gluing the lashes together. Applied properly, each extension sits on a single natural lash and falls out with it when that lash reaches the end of its cycle. That is what separates a set that grows out cleanly from one that leaves gaps.
Classic sets pair one extension to one natural lash and read as a longer, more defined version of your own lash line. Hybrid mixes classic lashes with small handmade fans to fill the gaps, which is the set most people actually want when they say they want extensions. Volume uses lighter, finer fans throughout for real density, and it is the most dramatic of the three. Which one suits you depends less on preference than on how many natural lashes you have to work with, so we will tell you honestly at the start.
Cluster lashes are a different thing and worth understanding. They are small pre-made groups applied to the lash line rather than to individual lashes, they take a fraction of the time, and they cost considerably less. They are the right answer for a party at the weekend and the wrong answer as a permanent habit, because worn continuously they put weight on the natural lash. We are happy to do them and we will say which one your lashes can carry.
A full individual set takes around two hours with your eyes closed. Fills are needed every two to three weeks, since you shed lashes daily whether or not there is an extension on them. If you decide to stop, come in for a proper removal rather than pulling at them; the solution dissolves the adhesive in minutes and costs very little.
Bring nothing on your lashes to the appointment. Clean, dry, mascara-free lashes hold adhesive far better, and it means we spend the time applying rather than cleaning.

What to expect
How the appointment goes
Consultation
We look at your natural lash density and talk about how much length and weight it can carry.
Cleanse and isolate
Lashes are cleaned of oil and makeup, then the lower lashes are shielded and each upper lash isolated.
Application
One extension to one natural lash, working across the eye. Around two hours for a full individual set.
Cure and check
The adhesive is cured, the set brushed through, and every lash checked for isolation.
Afterwards
- Keep them completely dry for the first 24 hours.
- No oil-based products anywhere near the eye, including cleanser and sunscreen.
- Brush daily with a clean spoolie and sleep on your back if you can.
- Book a fill at two to three weeks rather than waiting for gaps.
- Come in for a removal rather than pulling. Pulling takes your own lashes with it.

Asked and answered
A lash lift reshapes the lashes you already have, lasts six to eight weeks, and needs no upkeep between visits. Extensions add length and volume, look dramatically fuller, and need a fill every two to three weeks. If you want low maintenance, choose the lift. If you want impact, choose extensions.
Keep them dry for the first day, avoid oil-based cleansers and makeup remover around the eye, brush them through gently with a clean spoolie, and skip the eyelash curler. Sleeping on your back helps them last noticeably longer.
